Statement of Faith

We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Scriptures.  By this we mean that we believe the Holy Spirit miraculously guided the writers in their original writing and that this miraculous guidance extends to all parts of the Scriptures equally, applying even to the choice of the words, so that the result is the very Word of GOD:  the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

Moreover, it is our conviction that GOD has exercised singular care and providence through the ages in preserving the written Word, that the Scriptures as we now have them are in every essential particular as originally given, and contain all that is necessary to salvation and an ordered life toward Christian maturity.  II Timothy 3:16-17; I Peter 1:20-21.

We believe that by one man sin entered into human experience and that original sin is the birthright of every human being resulting in the depravity of each individual in all his faculties which necessitates his rebirth in Christ.  Genesis 3:6-24; Ephesians 2:1-3; Romans 3.

We believe in the death of Jesus Christ as a true substitute for sinners and that His death was the sufficient atonement for the guilt of all who receive Him.  We believe that His sacrifice made salvation available for every human being.  John 3:36; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:1-6.

We believe that Jesus Christ literally died, was buried, and rose bodily from the grave on the third day for our justification and that He is coming in like manner as He went away to receive believers to Himself.  Acts 1:1; Acts 15:16; Luke 1:31-32; Zechariah 4:9; Revelation 11:15.

We believe that human beings are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only by the redeeming blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom we have eternal life.  Matthew 3:1-13; Mark 1:14-15; Romans 8:35-39; John 10:27-30.

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and is personally coming to receive His own to Himself before beginning His millennial reign.

We believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved in a place called heaven and the everlasting punishment of the unsaved in a place called hell / the lake of fire.  Daniel 12:1-2; John 5:28-29; Mark 9:43-48; I Thessalonians 4:14-17; Revelation 20:11-15;

I Corinthians 15:51-54.

We believe in one GOD who is revealed as existing in three equal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  Psalm 83:18; Matthew 28:19.

We believe that it is the responsibility, the supreme task, of the church to share the good news concerning Jesus Christ with all men everywhere and to bring all believers to full maturity in Christ.  Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8.

We believe that Jesus Christ established His church during His personal ministry on earth and that He has sustained its doctrines, ministry, and ordinances through the ages to the present time.  The ordinances are the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.  The Lord’s Supper is a church ordinance memorializing our Lord’s death.  Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water which symbolizes the burial and the resurrection of our Lord.
